Veneers

In some cases, a whiter, brighter smile isn’t something that teeth whitening treatments can accomplish. For those deeper dental stains, veneers can be a great choice for enhancing your smile. And this isn’t limited to giving you a whiter smile. Veneers can also correct a wide range of cosmetic issues such as chips and irregular shaped front teeth.

Why Choose Veneers?

Veneers are thin shells, either made of porcelain or resin. They’re permanently bonded to your teeth in order to change the shape, size, length, and of course, the color of your teeth. If your teeth have persistent stains that can’t be removed with normal whitening treatments, veneers will be able to cover them.

They also make for a popular choice because they’re very durable, can last decades, and they can make your teeth much whiter and symmetrical than whitening or “bonding” procedures.

What Can Veneers Correct?

This cosmetic treatment provides a permanent solution to several types of dental imperfections, including

  • Chipped or broken teeth
  • Discolored teeth
  • Misaligned or uneven teeth
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Worn down teeth

How It Works: The Process of Getting Veneers

Getting veneers usually takes two visits: one to prepare the teeth by taking a small amount of enamel from the teeth with a drill. An impression is taken for the lab to make the veneers and you will have temporary veneers (trial run) placed until the permanent ones are made. These temporary veneers are great as it gives the patient the opportunity to “test drive” their new teeth. The second visit is to bond the veneers onto the teeth.
