Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT)
Windermere Dental & Medical Spa offers a method of bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) using pellet therapy. Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy is a way to bioidentically replace the hormones men and women lose over the course of their lives. We use bioidentical hormone therapy to balance hormones in a way that helps patients reclaim their health.
Why Bioidentical Pellet Therapy?
Because it’s easy! As a hormone replacement therapy patient, you receive two to four bioidentical hormone pellet insertions per year. This way you don’t have to think about it, and the hormone is available when your body needs it. It’s a simple, one-and-done process, and there’s no need to worry about remembering to take a pill every day. Feel better no matter your age. Our bioidentical hormones will help you avoid the adverse side effects of synthetic hormones.
What is Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Pellet Therapy?
Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) can come in oral, topical and pellet forms. BHRT using pellets has many advantages over other hormone modalities – most notably, the consistent administration offered by the BioTE method approach to hormone replacement therapy. This prevents the rollercoaster-like effects patients often experience with other forms of BHRT.
How Long Does a Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Pellet Take to Work?
Each hormone replacement therapy patient’s symptoms are unique, so is each patient’s path to hormone optimization. Most hormone therapy patients report some symptom resolution in as little as four weeks, but full optimization may take up to six months. Your bioidentical hormone therapy journey will be customized to fit your specific needs. It takes more than a few weeks for your hormones to get out of balance, so you can appreciate the fact that it may take a little time to get your hormones back to an optimal level.

BioTE® vs Synthetic Hormone Pellet Therapy
When it comes to the Windermere Dental & Medical Spa’s method of pellet therapy vs. synthetic hormones, Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) is the practical choice. Synthetic hormones are not identically matched to those made by the body, making them less effective and more likely to create adverse side effects than the bioidentical hormone pellets used by our providers. Our approach to hormone therapy has fewer and less severe side effects than synthetic hormone therapy. BioTE has helped thousands of people across the United States age healthier and live happier through our groundbreaking approach to hormone therapy, and we’d love the opportunity to do the same for you.
Bioidentical Hormones vs. Synthetic Hormones
If you are trying to decide whether you want the bioidentical method of hormone therapy vs. synthetic hormones, know that there is really no comparison.
Synthetic hormones are not identically matched to the hormones created in your body, which can cause more problems than they solve, while our bioidentical hormones offer a closer match to your body’s hormones.
I am 48 yrs old and I had age-related brown spots, fine lines and wrinkles, severe sun damage, hyperpigmentation, uneven skin tones, and dehydrated and dull skin.
Four weeks ago, I had BBL Light and Halo Laser treatments by PA Kennedy at Windermere Dental and Medical Spa.
PA Kennedy did an amazing job using the lasers on me and the procedure went fantastic. The aftercare and healing process was easy to live with. When I woke up in the morning on the 8th day, I looked in the mirror and thought I was a princess in a fairy tale. My skin has never looked better. It is 100% brighter, 100% clearer, 100% cleaner and 100% 15+ years younger.
In addition to having the lasers at Windermere Dental and Medical Spa. I have just begun Hormone Replacement Therapy and Thyroid Treatment & Management with PA Kennedy. I am feeling on top of the world at only day 1 of my HRT journey. I am so excited and look forward to all the good changes that will be happening with me and I have no doubt that I will be a better than ever before version of myself mentally, physically, emotionally, socially and every other way possible now that I have started my HRT.
PA Kennedy is truly every women’s angel! She’s mine!
Frequently Asked Questions
What Should I Do Before I Schedule an Appointment?
No fasting is required in advance of the insertion.
What Should I Do Before the Insertion?
One week before the insertion, if possible, stop all NSAIDs (aspirin, ibuprofen, acetaminophen, naproxen sodium, etc.). No fasting in advance of the insertion is required.
What Test is Required Before the Insertion?
At a minimum, Windermere Dental & Medical Spa requires a comprehensive blood panel which you can receive conveniently at our office.
What Happens During the In-Office Insertion?
During the in-office visit, which only takes a few minutes, patients are brought into the exam room, and the insertion site is numbed. The most common site of insertion is the upper buttocks. A small incision is then made for pellet insertion. Once the pellet is inserted, the insertion site is covered with a small bandage.
What Happens During the Week Following the Insertion?
After pellet insertion, it’s best to eliminate lower body exercise. You can walk, but extraneous activity is not recommended. Swimming, hot tubs, and bathtubs are to be avoided; however, showers are permitted. After removal of the bandage, normal activity may resume.
How Often is Pellet Insertion Necessary?
As each patient’s symptoms are unique, so is each patient’s path to hormone optimization. Your journey will be customized to fit your specific needs. It takes more than one to two weeks for your hormones to get out of balance, so expect it to take time for your symptoms to resolve.
What Happens to Pellets After Insertion?
Since the pellets are bioidentical and contain nothing more than the hormones your body naturally produces, the pellets are completely dissolved and absorbed, leaving nothing behind.
